What happened after the war
By the end of the war, Schindler had spent his entire fortune on bribes and black market
purchases of supplies for his workers. Virtually destitute, he moved briefly to Regensburg
and later Munich, but did not prosper in postwar Germany. In fact, he was reduced to
receiving assistance from Jewish organisations.

Both accounts dealt with the fact that Oskar Schindler, for all his finer qualities,
was a serial womaniser. He eventually abandoned his wife to a life of poverty in
Argentina in 1957 he died in Germany in 1974 without ever seeing her again.

14th Dalai Lama


The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of Tibetan
Buddhism, and in the tradition of Bodhisattva he has
spent his life committed to benefiting humanity.In 1989, the Dalai Lama
was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent efforts for the
liberation of Tibet and his concern for global environmental problems.

Tibetans believe him to be the reincarnation of his predecessors.
For nearly 50 years, he had aimed to establish Tibet as a self-governing,
democratic state. Lhamo Thondup was the fifth of 16 children seven of
whom died at a young age.

United States (1977-81) and served as the nation's chief executive
during a time of serious problems at home and abroad. Carter's
perceived mishandling of these issues led to defeat in his bid for
reelection.


James Earl Carter Jr. is an American politician and philanthropist
who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to
1981. A Democrat, he previously served as a Georgia State senator
from 1963 to 1967 and as the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to
1975


On December 12, 1974, he announced his candidacy for
president of the United States. He won his party’s nomination
on the first ballot at the 1976 Democratic National Convention,
and was elected president on November 2, 1976.
